A patent is a document that gives you the right to work legally in one region of Russia. You need one if you came from a visa-free country: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan or Moldova. Citizens of the EAEU — Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan — don’t need a patent; an employment contract is enough.
You must apply for a patent within 30 calendar days of your entry date.
