Migration registration
How many days you have for your citizenship, what to hand to your host and which document to keep with your passport.
A missed deadline almost never means it's all over. What can be done in each case and what to bring to the lawyer.
A missed deadline is handled by a lawyer. Trying on your own here usually costs more than it saves: the person goes to the centre, is refused and learns the consequences in the form of a decision.
This page explains what can realistically be done in each case, so you come to the consultation understanding your situation.
A missed deadline almost never means it's all over. Some deadlines can be restored, some turn into a fine, some into a refusal that has its own next steps. Which of these three outcomes you face depends on which deadline was missed and how much time has passed.
Time works against you in one direction. The sooner you get help, the more options remain: in almost every case there is a window in which the situation is easier to resolve.
| What was missed | What the lawyer looks at |
|---|---|
| The patent advance payment | Whether the patent can be restored and by when. In Moscow such a procedure exists in practice. |
| 30 days to apply for a patent | Whether the application will be accepted after the fine is paid, or leaving and re-entering will be needed. |
| Two months for the employment contract and notification | Whether you are still in time and what to do if the notification is already overdue. |
| The migration registration deadline | A fine or already grounds for refusing a patent; how to register now. |
| The medical examination | How to take it late and what to do about a fine already issued. |
| A patent refusal or cancellation | The grounds for refusal, whether it is worth challenging and when you can apply again. |
With these documents a lawyer can name your situation in the first minutes of the conversation. Without them, the consultation is spent reconstructing dates.
The list of situations is compiled from the nine escalation points of the route and the practice of the project's migration lawyers. Fine amounts and the restoration procedure for specific deadlines are given in the relevant guides.

Two separate procedures that are often confused: fingerprinting is required for everyone everywhere, the foreign citizen card only in some regions.
Who needs it, by when, what it covers and where, and why the VHI policy is a separate document that does not replace the examination.
